known as Ski Town USA, has a western authenticity that can be seen throughout the town in the working cattle ranches, the locals’ casual lifestyle and down home friendliness.  This area also has produced more Olympians than any other. (says something about the mountain!)  Want a new ski buddy: Billy the Kid gives Free daily mountains tours.  Something  for everyone: large base village with many restaurants and a near by town accessed by a free shuttle bus.

The Mountain offers mogul fields, inviting tree & glade runs, wide open groomers and of course; Sparkling Champagne Powder.  Steamboat has coined this term since it is the only mountain range in Colorado where the storms come directly off the Idaho dessert stripping out the moisture and leaving light fluffy snow like no other in the west.  With over 300 inches annually, the mountain has 6 peaks and 165 trails to challenge the best of skiers. The base elevation is 6,900ft and the summit at Mt Werner is 10,568ft: Vertical rise – 3,668 ft.  
So you want something other than skiing: choose from snowmobiling, bobsledding, ice skating, cross country skiing, Bridgestone ice driving school, dinner sleigh rides, Hot air Balloon rides, and let us not forget: Strawberry Fields Natural Hot Springs!!

The Terraces at Eagle Ridge: a luxury condo complex located just minutes from the Silver Bullet Gondola and Base Village via a creek side walking path.  So you don’t want to walk: free buses to the base pass by regularly OR Free Shuttle on demand – we like that!  The complex has: ski lockers, exercise facility, laundry, internet access, gas fireplaces, and of course that wonderful gigantic outdoor Hot Tub and Heated Swimming Pool that we all loved.
